Professional Guidance by Divorce Lawyers

When coming to terms with separation, we understand it can be difficult moving forward. We guide you through the process of applying for a divorce and helping you resolve financial agreements, property settlements and parenting arrangements. As Divorce lawyers, we offer counselling and remediation services for couples. We also formulate solutions in relation to spousal maintenance and support too.

Before you Apply for a Divorce

You must be separated from your partner for at least 12 months before applying for a divorce. In situations where a partner cannot afford to leave the family home, both parties can be considered separated while still living together.

We take you through the process of making parenting and financial arrangements. Our Divorce solicitors advise you on the best outcomes for your children and how to divide property between you and your ex-partner.

Mediation

Our mediation services allow couples to resolve issues outside of court and work to maintain a healthy relationship after the divorce. These private sessions are conducted by professional counsellors. Counsellors gives each individual a chance to express any issues regarding property division, child support and general partner maintenance.

These sessions are held in private and joint meetings, where issues and outcomes can be discussed in a civilised manner. When a satisfactory agreement has been made between both parties, these results are certified by your counsellor and provided to the court – if necessary.

How do I Apply for a Divorce?

After 12 months of separation, we help you fill out the divorce application and submit for the final hearing. Whether you are applying as a sole entry or together, our Divorce lawyers can guide you through the process and advise you on what criteria’s need to be met. After the application has been submitted, a hearing date will be set and if successful – you will be granted with a divorce order.

If either party wishes to oppose a divorce, we can assist you in submitting a Response to Divorce form. While these situations are rare, we analyse your situation and discuss the conditions that you may be eligible for this service.
